Bike on to Old Town Alexandria

Would you like a longer ride? Follow the Mount Vernon Trail from the finish line in Crystal City to Old Town Alexandria. This 4.5 mile extension takes you past National Airport to the heart of Alexandria, where you can enjoy the beauty and the history of Old Town Alexandria.

Do you need an added incentive to bike to Alexandria? Come to the Snack Shak (located on the Alexandria Waterfront in the Torpedo Factory Food Pavilion, 5 Cameron Street) between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Show your Bike DC rider ID and get giveaways provided by the City of Alexandria and a FREE fresh squeezed juice and a cookie! Supplies are limited.

From Alexandria you can bike back to Washington, take Metro (King Street Station, Yellow and Blue lines) or cruise up the river to Georgetown.

Potomac River Cruise from Old Town Alexandria to Georgetown

Enough biking? Enjoy a 45 minute cruise up the Potomac River from the dock in Old Town Alexandria to Georgetown. There will be special sailings from Alexandria: 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Space is limited so reserve your spot now. The cruise costs $18.

Select "one-way", the number of people and the number of bikes.

You may also purchase a cruise ticket at the Potomac Riverboat ticket booth near the dock in Alexandria. But space is limited so advance reservations are encouraged.

Bike to the Ballpark

The Nationals play the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday afternoon following Bike DC. The game starts at 1:35 p.m. In conjunction with National Bike Month, the Nationals are offering discount tickets to people biking the game. Click here for all the details and tickets.
